The circuit for the new news feed came online on March 7th 1996 and became operational without fault. Shortly after this the new feed began spooling and InternetFCI became the first Network to enjoy 512K of dedicated news feed from one of the Worlds two largest news hubs.

The new feed provides over 14,000 globally distributed news groups to users as well as allowing the transfer of new news service such as TheNet/News. News is delivered quickly and in quantity as a result of this new and superior news circuit connection.

InternetFCI have plans to continue to expand this already unequalled service. The new Circuit will be upgradred from 512K to 2Mbits in the near future and will remain dedicated to the News service only. This now brings InternetFCI's total bandwidth to in excess of 81Mbits and allows us to alter our method of network timing to give noticable speed improvements across most services. Notification will be given to all members of when to expect the further upgrade.
